"New Family / New Adventures"
In 2020 the news of my Nanook passing was sent far and wide, that this special boy was no longer with us and the Special work that he did for so many had come to a close.

From this point onwards the community knew that the passion and joy that both Nanook and I got from making people laugh, smile, and in some cases, just be able to walk or get out of bed, was to continue.

This is where a breeder contacted me and told me, when the time was right, that they maybe able to assist with a new pup if this is what i choose to do.
It was not a easy choice for me, as i did not want to leave Nanook behind, i did not want his memory to fade, i did not want to let him go.
To be honest it was Nanooks supporter, children he had helped, family and Staff that thought so highly of him, that told me , when the time is right you will get another pup, as it was in my personal nature to help others through the eyes, Heart and Soul of a Malamute.

Above Left :- Dad "Chimay"
Above :- Mum "Lexie
And so , as hard as it was, i accepted that i would take on another Pup and start a new Journey.
The decision was not taken lightly, as i knew the bond i had with Nanook would never be replaced ,and to be honest, ripped my heart out and i had convinced myself i could not replace him.
But , in true Nanook form, Life goes on and the work he did rang loud and clear from all the people he touched, that he truly made a differences in their lives. So in a way, it was Nanook that told me that Life has to go on without him beside me.

On the 2nd of July 2020 - Sam (Talakarli Samuel Devine) and Mya Grace (Talakarli Mya Grace Devine) were born into this world.

In true form, the Litter was a bit special- Sam and Mya's Dad ( Chimay) was to have his life cut short due to a snake bite, but some time earlier, his seaman was to be kept.

Dad - Chimay - Belgium born and transported to Australia and went on to be a Show Champion
Mum - Lexie - Australian born and a Show Champion at a young age.
Lexie was to be Artificially Inseminated and to go on and have her first litter of 4 Girls and 4 Boys.

From the beginning, we had decided that we would get two new additions to the family as we had great plans and wanted to work with both of them to make a difference in the world, Just like Nanook did.
In the early stages of birth, we kept in contact with breeder and made regular visits to see how the temperaments were developing , and on the 29th of August 2020, Sam and Mya were to come to Nanooks home to commence their new Lives.

Similar to Nanook ( Inuit Eskimo word meaning - Polar Bear) , Sam and Mya's names had to have meaning
Sam - taken after Nanook Samuel
Mya Grace - Mya meaning - Mother, and Grace, named after a little girl that we had met during our Therapy Dog work that had Cancer.

So Now a New Chapter is to be written , and the Pups ( aka Muppets) need to write their own stories.

And So the adventures begin. - Stay tuned.

A Battle Lost for Dear Slater - 11 Aug 2021
It is with great Sadness that we learn that at 7.30am this morning , Young Master Slater has lost his battle with Brain Cancer. At the young age of just 6.5, this guy was so full of life and did so much , not just for himself, but for so many other.
Every person that met just fell in love with him. His smile was just so infectious . He brought me to tears the first day i met him , and again when he met Sam and Mya Grace.
Sam and I had the Honor and Privilege to be part of Slaters farewell on the Gold Coast . There was a capacity of people that attend his service and it was a delight for Sam to be able to share a little comfort to them all, including Slaters Mum Bianca . The service was full of Laughter and also tears, but Slaters Memory will live on in all of us, Sam included.

Our dearest of wishes go with you Bianca and and your family and i hope that you feel and very small bit of comfort that Salter is with Nanook now in the heavens above and i am sure they are both looking over all of us.

A Great Success - Nearly a Vet Day at the Manly Rd Vets - 2022
In 2021 our Muppets were invited to the "Nearly a Vet Day at our Local Veterinary Hospital ( Many Rd Vets)
As both Mya and Sam were a huge success, they were invited back to spend some time with the 2023 Vets Day.
An other Year Old, and we think another year Wisher, they were truly a hit.
Been able to talk to the kids and the families and explain what the Alaskan Malamute was all about and what Adventures we had been on. Even with some of the kids nervious about these big puppies, we were able to get these kids to give Sam and Mya some puts, a few cuddles and plenty of treats. Yes, even the parents got involved with a few sneaky selfies.

We Just wanted to say a very big thank you to Rebecca and the wonderful staff of the Manly Rd Vet Hospital. They are so supportive of what i enjoy doing the most, and that's sharing smiles and pats through the eyes of my Pups, and i know on this day, we achieved this. So thanks to all involved.
Nanook Samuels Legacy Lives on in "Sam"
"Therapy Dog Work'".
If you have gotten this far, you will know that my passion is to help others and to do this through the Paws and Touch of my Puppies.
When my dear friend Nanook passed away, it left me Shattered, Empty and i felt my days were over doing volunteer work with a Pup.
And then along came Sam and Mya Grace. 2 little fluff balls that helped me remember why i want to do this kind of Volunteer work, and hence, the journey begins again.
Little did Sam know, that from the day he met me, that his future would be a bit different compared to your usual Alaskan Malamute deep in the snow pulling a Sled. His Journey would follow in the Paw Prints of our Dear Nanook Samuel. A journey to help others when they need it the most. A journey to help people remember that there is always something to smile about.
And So Begins Sam's journey in fore filling Nanooks Legacy as a "Therapy Dog"

For those that know the person that i am, i don't wait for things to come to me, I go and get them, Embrace them and in short, just make things happen.

Sam and I have Commenced our journey in Two areas,
One, as a Mater Hospital Therapy Team. Visiting every Thursday to Young Adult Drug and Alcohol Abuse Center. We spend plenty of time there talking with the kids and sharing Sam's stories.
We also visit the Adult Rehabilitation hospital to help bring back some home feelings to those that have left their pups at home. Lots of chats and photos here. We also get to visit many other areas of the Hospital and help out where we are needed. - Very Rewarding for both myself , and Sam.

Mater Therapy Dog Program.

As Nanook and I did for nearly 5 years, we Volunteered With the Delta Therapy Dog Program at the Queensland Childrens Hospital here in Brisbane. So we have a very good connect with Delta Therapy Dogs, and hence, Our decision to continue Volunteering with them was an easy one.
Sam and I continued the process of Interviews, Assessments and testing and passed as a New Delta Therapy Dog team.
We are now Volunteering at the Redlands Hospital along with the Mater Hospital and we are working with the Adult Mental Health Wards and the Nursing Staff.

It is truly amazing to see the difference a Dog can make with the people that they meet. Understanding that these folks may not have access to seeing pups like Sam, but it is the least we can do is to bring Dogs like Sam to them .
A task as simple as me sitting there allowing the patients to stroke and feed Sam treats while i just listen. The Things that i learn along the way is truly amazing and i think myself luck, and also proud that Sam and i can do this.
